The top 3 ways to fix broken links

Is your website filled with links to other sites and portals? Maybe you link off to a video that is not yours … a social channel … or a press URL, and you changed your handle or don’t often check to be sure the press is still live. If you don’t check them periodically, there is no way to know that they are all working. There are lots of ways that a broken link could come to be, and we can help you fix them.

When an internal page link breaks (because you changed a page name for example), it should 404 right back to your site. But if the link goes outside of your site, that won’t happen. So it’s key to be sure that all of your links are strong and working. Here are the top three things to do to make sure your site is working at maximum efficiency!

1- TEST DRIVE: Periodically, take your site for a plain old test drive, if you find a broken link, email us the new link and we’ll fix it for you! Or, if you have access for updates, adjust the link yourself.

2- LINK TESTERS: There are lots of free testers out in the internet world. Some will encourage you to sign up for a paid ‘checker’ but you really should not need that.

3- HOLLER FOR HELP: Contact us for a full site test. If your site is under 5 pages, we’ll run one for free and ID any link issues and provide you an estimate for fixing any/all. If it’s more than 5 pages ( but less than 10), we’ll run one for $25 if you contact us by December 15th!
